Our Mission

Hunger is a year round problem, and can hit families unexpectedly from job loss,
medical issues, divorce, or a death in a family.  Hunger is a real problem, even in our
country.  It is the mission of the People First Pantry to provide a bridge to the
members of the community in need of food assistance.

The present state of the economy has an even larger number of people in need of
the service we provide.  Donations are greatly needed.

Our Pantry is in great need of the following items:
Hearty Soups / Beef Stew
Canned Meat (tuna, chicken, turkey, etc.)
Cereal
Pasta
Rice / Rice dishes
Spaghettios
Boxed milk
Snacks for children
Juice boxes
Baked Beans
Condiments (mayo, mustard, ketchup)

Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger

With the support of their customers, Hannaford raised nearly $900,000 in cash and groceries
during the holiday season through their annual Hannaford Fights Hunger campaign.  Across
their 5 state market area, the 2009 campaign brought in 75,000 boxes of Fund a Feast boxes
of food (value $750,000), $90,000 through cash contributions made at check out registers,
27,000 cans of soup, 39000 boxes of pasta and 12,800 boxes of cereal through their buy
one, give one, initiative with a value of $52000!

The donations are helping to feed thousands of people in Maine, Mass., New Hampshire,
Vermont, and New York. Our local Hannaford donated 680 boxes, providing food to needy
families in Uxbridge, Douglas, Whitinsville, Blackstone and Mendon.

Throughout the
summer the food
pantry is collecting
