Friends of the Uxbridge Free Public Library
Who are the Friends?
Friends of the Uxbridge Free Public Library are people like you! This organization was
founded as a non-profit group, whose purpose is to support and promote the services and
programs of the library. Friends of the Library is made up of an Executive Board that ensures
the goals are met, as well as by members of the community that make donations through their
membership dues and time.

Friends of the Uxbridge Library Donate to UFD
The Friends of the Uxbridge Library have donated the proceeds of the annual fall book sale
to the Uxbridge Fire Department. The Friends wanted to help when they heard of the
Uxbridge Fire Department’s need to replace the thermal imaging camera damaged in the July
Bernat Mill fire. Fire Chief Peter J. Ostroskey accepted the three hundred dollar donation
from the Friends at the November Friends meeting. As a board member said, “We hope the
library never requires the use of the thermal imaging camera, but it will be good to know it is
there if we should need it”. The Friends of the Uxbridge Library is a non-profit organization
that supports and promotes the services and programs of the library.
